When I went natural the first time, I didn't know you had to actually deep condition your hair. Now that I am committed to staying natural, I want to learn as much as I possibly can about being natural, and having healthy natural hair.
This past Monday I deep conditioned my hair. I poured some EVOO on my hands, and rubbed it all over my hair. Then I pour some honey in my hands and rubbed it all over my hair. I then put a shower cap on, and killed time for 2 hours. After 2 hours I took a shower, and washed my hair with V05 Tea Therapy conditioner.
After my shower, my hair was so soft. I put some Jojoba oil on and went about my day. Now why do I put those particular products on my hair. EVOO adds moisture and honey is a humecent so it holds the moisture in.
Deep conditioning is an important part of having healthy natural hair. Some women DC once a week, multiple times a week, or twice a month. It's all up to you, and how often you want to do it. I will most likely DC once a week. But that might change as my hair grows.
What is your DC regimen and how often do you DC?

My first week
My first week of being natural has been pretty easy. I did my big chop on the top of my head on August 17th. I still have some transitioning to do, but I'm excited to go on this natural journey.
I bought some V05 Tea Therapy conditioner for my hair, and so far my hair loves it. I deep conditioned my hair yesterday with honey and EVOO and my hair is so soft. Then I topped it off with some Jojoba oil. So far this regimen works for me. I'm sure it will change as my hair changes and grows. I can't wait to learn more about my hair
I have a fotki page that has pictures of my hair. You can see it here, and a youtube channel where I will be vlogging about my hair, you can see it here.
